About Us

We are a non-profit organization funded by the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development.  We are managed by an all volunteer board of directors.  (If you would like to submit your application to become a member of our board, please contact us for more information.)  We provide upgrading services (free to those who qualify) in literacy, numeracy and digital skills to adults 19 and over in the communities of Elliot Lake and Blind River, Ontario. Our services assist in the development of skills for: transition into the labor market; participation in education and/or other training programs; or the general improvement of quality of life.

Our Mission

The North Channel Literacy Council will promote Literacy and Basic Skills to enable all adults to reach their fullest potential in the Community through the development and delivery of quality training, awareness and educational programs.
